Lee Mack couldn't resist making a jibe at Boris Johnson - right in front of his face - on stage at the Platinum Party at the Palace.
The comedian took to the stage at the concert this evening to mark the monarch's 70 years on the throne, and he was quick to make a jibe at the Prime Minister's expense, with him sat just metres away.
As he arrived on stage, Lee welcomed everyone to Buckingham Palace, dubbing it a "party of a lifetime", explaining how lucky everyone was to be able to perform and watch a concert just steps away from Buckingham Palace's gates.
But it was his stinging joke at the expense at Boris that had the whole audience laughing.
"Finally we can say the words Party and Gate and it be a positive," he said, earning a raucous sound of laughter from the audience who had gathered in The Mall.
"The Platinum Party at the Palace is taking place this evening, with thousands of people including a number of people who had worked on the frontline during the Covid pandemic, in attendance.
Lee Mack's jibe came after Boris was once again booed as he took to his seats with wife, Carrie.
Footage posted on Twitter showed Mr Johnson taking his seat to a hearty chorus of boos from some members of the public.
This is the second time in recent days that the Tory leader has been jeered during a jubilee event.
On Friday, he and his wife Carrie were met with heckles as they arrived at St Paul's Cathedral for the Platinum Thanksgiving Service.
The Prime Minister has been under increasing pressure to resign following the No10 'partygate' scandal which saw him receive a fine from the Metropolitan Police for attending a rule-breaking birthday gathering in June 2020.
Stephen Fry also made a political remark which drew gasps, and laughter, from the crowd.
Speaking of the Queen's stoicism, Fry said: “How many local sewage works has our Majesty opened with a bright smile? How many plaques unveiled?
"How many trees planted, ribbons cut, ships launched? How many prime ministers tolerated – for that alone, no admiration is high enough.”
Kirsty Young and Roman Kemp hosted the event, which saw the Queen's 70 year reign remembered and celebrated.
The performances took place on a 360 degree stage, with the likes of Sir Rod Stewart, Diana Ross and Ed Sheeran taking to the stage. Scores of people without tickets also filled The Mall in a bid to get a piece of the action.
Diana Rossclosed the show in her first UK performance in 15 years.
Writing on Instagram at the time, she shared: "I am honoured to perform for Her Majesty The Queen once again and I am so excited to be returning to the UK after so long.
"I cannot wait to meet and reconnect with all of my family, friends and fans there to share the love. #DianaRossThankYou #PlatinumJubilee #HM70."
Ed Sheeran - who also performed - had previously explained how he had been inspired to go into music by seeing one of his musical heroes performing at one of these royal concerts 20 years back.
"20 years ago I decided I wanted to pick up a guitar because I watched the Golden Jubilee on tv, saw Eric Clapton play Layla and said ‘that’s what I wanna do’.
"10 years later I played The A Team at the Diamond Jubilee, and now 10 years on I’m playing the Platinum Jubilee this Sunday. Life is weird how it keeps coming full circle in lovely ways," he shared.
