Lee Johnson has provided an injury update ahead of Hibs' return to action with four big players 'out on the grass'
The Easter Road side were rocked by the news key man Martin Boyle would be ruled out for the rest of the season after initial hope that he would recover from injury in time to play for Australia in the World Cup. However, he missed out on the finals and was given the season-ending news in a major double blow.
Jake Doyle-Hayes and Lewis Miller are also out of the trip to face Rangers at Ibrox as Michael Beale makes his competitive bow in the dugout in Govan. But it was much better news on Aiden McGeady, Kevin Nisbet, Harry McKirdy and Kyle Magennis who have been getting some good minutes in the bank on the training pitch. Whether they are thrown in the deep end tomorrow night remains to be seen with Johnson offering a more cautious update stating minutes need to be managed to perfection in order to get the best out of the quartet.

Providing the state of play on his squad and who may be available ahead of the Glasgow away day, he told Hibs TV: “Jake Doyles-Hayes is not quite ready, unfortunately. Lewis Miller is also unavailable and some of the return-to-play players are at very different stages in their recovery.
“We know Boyle’s out, which is a big blow for us but we are supporting him in every way we can.
“The real positives are that Aiden McGeady, Kevin Nisbet and Harry McKirdy are all out on the grass and have been getting some good minutes in the bank. Kyle Magennis is out there as well and that is a great boost for us and has given everyone a lift.
“We just need to make sure we manage their minutes to perfection to make sure we get the best out of them.”
