LeBron James vehemently shot down reporting about his injury progress: ‘God bless y’all sources’

Lakers fans everywhere have been patiently waiting on the return of LeBron James since the Lakers star injured his foot last month.

Since then, Anthony Davis has risen to the occasion and kept the Lakers in the playoff hunt, but still. It’d certainly be nice for the Lakers if the team could get its brightest star back — if only to give Davis some help.

We have no idea when that’s happening, though. James’ injury was reportedly re-evaluated by the Lakers staff recently, and both Shams Charania and Adrian Wojnarwoski are reporting that James might be out until the last week of the season. He could be back for the postseason, however, if the Lakers make it.

You know who doesn’t seem to agree with that timetable, though? LeBron James himself.

In fact, James seemed pretty miffed by the fact that this even got out. The man got on Twitter to deny every single bit of the reporting we got to day.

Not only did he say that he wasn’t evaluated today, but he also said there’s no target date for his return and that he’s also working out 3 times per day to get himself back to where he needs to be to play.

And he finished off with this line: “God bless y’all sources. I speak for myself.”

Well, alright then, LeBron. Clearly, this struck a cord with the NBA’s All-Time leading scorer. The question is why? This is not something that James normally does. When reports come out about him, he’ll usually remain silent and allow things to play out.

In this instance, he didn’t. Maybe it’s because he thinks he can come back earlier. It could also be because he might not come back at all and he doesn’t want to give folks false hope.

Honestly, we have no idea. We’ll find out at some point eventually, though. And, I guess when we do, we’ll find out from James himself.
