LeBron James says he’s in one of the best offensive zones of his career

It’s been a major up-and-down season for the Los Angeles Lakers, but through it all, LeBron James has been a consistent bright spot.

James, who is now 37 years old, is averaging a whopping 29.0 points per game, his most since 2009 when he put up 29.7 points with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

But it’ll be interesting to see if James can sustain his hot scoring stretch when Anthony Davis returns to the court. Davis has been out since Dec. 17, and since then, James has scored at least 25 points in 17 straight games.

James talked about his workload when Davis returns.

“I don’t need to score 30 a night, but I’m in one of the best zones offensively I’ve been in in my career,” James said after the loss to the Miami Heat. “And I don’t plan on stopping it.

“That’s just how I feel. I feel fantastic. Shooting the ball extremely well…I don’t go into the game saying, “Oh, you gotta score 30 or you guys don’t have a chance to win,” I just play the game. The scoring has just been happening organically. ”
