Lead in the Zipper of Recalled Lontcs Busy Boards Raises a Blood Test Question for Parents of Toddlers

About 1,835 Lontcs Busy Board toys sold on Amazon are being recalled because the zipper on the board contains lead above the federal limit, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced September 10. The agency's recall notice says lead is toxic if young children swallow it and can cause adverse health issues.

The boards are wooden activity toys with a metal handle and a row of attached pieces: a brown zipper, a black plastic buckle with cream straps, a metal latch, a caster wheel, a white doorbell, a lock with keys, a crank music box, a zigzag duck puzzle, an abacus and a white fidget spinner. They were sold on Amazon.com from May 2024 through July 2026 for about $31. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
