The Script lead guitarist Mark Sheehan has passed away today after "brief illness".
The Irish rock band confirmed the tragic news on Facebook today.
A short message accompanied by a photo of Sheehan said: "Much loved husband, father, brother, band mate and friend Mark Sheehan passed away today in hospital after a brief illness.

"The family and group ask fans to respect their privacy at this tragic time."
The 46-year-old musician was the father of teenage children and lived in the States with his wife of more than 20 years Reena.
The Dubliner, who is originally from the Liberties, formed the chart-topping band in the early 2000s along with lead singer Danny O'Donoghue and drummer Glen Power. They relocated to London to pursue their musical career. Mark and Danny were best friends since they were 12 growing up in Dublin.
The band were due to support Pink! on her upcoming European tour, starting in Bolton on June 7. Just three days ago they posted a photo on Instagram saying they were getting ready for the tour.
