Athletes from Law and Distrcit Amateur Athletics Club continued to enjoy a strong start to the year after recording impressive performances as well as personal bests in the outdoor and indoor circuits.
First up, four young athletes were selected to compete at the Scottish Inter District Cross Country Championships in Perth in early January after qualifying in Kilmarnock at the West District Cross Country Championships.
Representing the West of Scotland, Blair Beverley finished 36th in the U13 boys 3km race, with Olivia Inglis finishing 25th in the girls race.
U17 star Jessica Inglis competed the 6km course, finishing in 12th place and winning team gold.
There was also success for senior athlete Emily McNicol, representing Scottish Students, as she competed in the 7km race, finishing 23rd and winning a team silver medal for her efforts.
Also competing in Perth, in the open cross country events, were U17 athlete Ryan Kellock, who finished 36th in the 6k event, and Logan Whitton, who finished in 50th place.
Senior Reagan Binnie was also in action and finished 65th in the 7km.
Elsewhere, senior Elaine Boyle competed in the Falkirk Epic Trail 10km, finishing in second place in the F40-49 category, in a fantastic time of 49.18mins.
Meanwhile, there was a great turnout of Law athletes at the National Indoor Open at Emirates Arena in Glasgow, where they competed in both track and field events.
U23 Leah Keisler was on top form in the 800m competition, achieving a personal best and new club record in an impressive time of 2:12.14mins.
Athletes have been putting lots of effort and hard work in to training over the winter months and many personal bests were achieved, in what was the first major competition for most since September.

200m sprint – Jade Gray, Eva Burns, Luke Evans, Stefan Cowan, India Wood, Sophie Shearer, Olivia Davidson, Emma Kearney, Holly Wilson, Annalise McCormick and Emma McKeown
800m – Alan McCulloch
400m - Charlie Hall and Mark Smith
Shot Put – Skye Davidson
Long Jump – Mark Smith, Hannah Kulke and Olivia Davidson.
