Lautaro Martinez's agent has already dropped transfer hint amid Chelsea interest

Lautaro Martinez is 'among the players under consideration' by Chelsea ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. According to a recent report from The Athletic, the Blues are interested in signing the Argentina international as they look to make major changes to their squad over the next few months.

Martinez was strongly linked with a move to the Premier League last summer, with Arsenal and Tottenham said to be interested, but the 24-year-old extended his contract until 2026 at Inter Milan. That will have definitely protected the Argentine's value at the San Siro, but he could still secure an exit this summer.

Chelsea have been linked with a host of attacking players as Thomas Tuchel looks to bridge the gap to the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool next term. football.london understands Christopher Nkunku is a target ahead of the window, but there are a queue of clubs interested in the RB Leipzig and France attacker.

Ousmane Dembele is also a target for the Blues, but similarly to his French countryman Nkunku, there are a host of interested parties. Dembele is set to become a free agent at the end of next month, with his contract at Barcelona due to expire.

So, Martinez, who scored 25 goals across all competitions for Inter over the 2021/22 season, could be a viable option for Chelsea in the transfer market. The Argentina international's agent, though, recently said his client is more than happy with Inter at the moment.

Alejandro Camaño, via Mundo Deportivo, said: "Today the only thing we want is to be champion at Inter, and then God will say. He's comfortable, he's fine. But we don't get involved in what the clubs want to do, we know what Lautaro wants to do, which is to become champion with Inter and have a good World Cup. That's the only thing Lauti has in mind, God will tell the rest."

He then added: "Lauti is going to go give us a lot of joy in the coming years, wherever he goes he is going to be an entertainer. He will succeed wherever he is, surely he will do well. Hopefully he plays in a great team and can compete in competitions like the Champions League."

Martinez is a fabulous player and has showcased that on a regular basis for Inter Milan in recent seasons. As well as this, he formed an incredible partnership with Romelu Lukaku during his time at the San Siro. In 78 games when both were on the pitch together in all competitions, 19 goals were scored with one was assisting the other. Lukaku netted 10 assisted by Martinez, while the latter scored nine in the opposite scenario.

"I miss Lautaro Martinez," Lukaku said to Sky Italia towards the end of 2021. "I could die on the pitch for him since day one when I met him."

The Belgian then joked: "Lautaro Martinez coming here with me at Chelsea in the future? No, Lautaro, you can stay in Milan. I'll be back there."
