Lauren Goodger grateful for support after ‘horrendous few weeks’

Lauren Goodger has shared an emotional message on Instagram thanking her followers for their support during a “horrendous few weeks.”

The former TOWIE star, 35, recently lost newborn baby Lorena, who tragically died shortly after birth on July 8. Lauren was mourning the loss of former boyfriend Jake McLean at the time, who died in a car crash in Turkey aged 33.

Reports allege Lauren was assaulted shortly after Lorena’s funeral, after which her boyfriend, 25-year-old Charles Drury, was arrested on suspicion of assault and later released on bail. The reality star took to Instagram on Thursday to share a message of thanks to her 853k followers.

Lauren said she was grateful for “all the love and support" she had received in the “horrendous terrible whirlwind” over the past few weeks, and assured fans she reads their messages. She said: "During this traumatic time I've lost but I've also gained some values in this awful heartbroken time... some new friends and become closer to my current ones and some family.

“It really has shown me who is meant to be in my life and I love each and every one of you thank you. I only have a few and that's all I need and it's taught me some life long lessons however hard it's been."

She added: "I asked Lorena when I had her at home the night before her funeral ‘please guide me please let my life lead the path it's meant to and give me strength and courage’ and a lot changed instantly and I trust her. She is making my new path thank you Lorena I love you and I know you’re with me always and I know you've cleared out and made way for what's meant to be."

Lauren ended the post by saying although she has “no answers” and will “never get over it,” her one-year-old daughter Larose has “kept her going mentally and physically.” She described the youngster as her “rock.”

Lauren announced the heartbreaking news of Lorena's death with an Instagram post on July 10, in which the newborn was described as "the most beautiful healthy baby I've ever seen."
