Dublin-born actress Caitriona Balfe also attended the BAFTAs last night. She was nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Belfast, however lost out to Ariana DeBose who appeared in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story.

The Outlander star wore a black velvet gown by Armani Privé. The dress had a dramatic neckline and eighties-inspired shoulder pads. She pinned her dark hair in an elegant up-do and wore a statement dark lipstick.

She was styled by Karla Welsh and wore gorgeous jewellery by Van Cleef & Arpels.

There has been lots of excitement around Caitriona's performance in Belfast, and the actress has even been nominated for an Oscar.

Caitriona stars alongside Jamie Dornan in Kenneth Branagh’s semi-autobiographical film about his childhood in Northern Ireland.

She plays 'Ma', the mother of nine-year-old Buddy (based on Kenneth Branagh). She is faced with the choice of leaving her life in a troubled 1960s Northern Ireland or beginning a new life in England.
