Laura Whitmore teases her new show - and it's a big departure from Love Island

Laura Whitmore has excited fans by sharing a teaser for her brand new TV show and it seems worlds away from her role on Love Island.

The 37-year-old presenter took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a picture of the show's title, Laura Whitmore Investigates.

She captioned the post: "New TV project coming soon… #laurawhitmoreinvestigates."

People seem eager for the show, with one person commenting: "Class. My kind of tv show. Best of luck with it."

Another fan wrote: "Well done Laura, looking forward to that."

A third said: "Exciting stuff! Good luck with it Laur," while another commented: "This looks fantastic."

It is yet to be announced when the show will be released, or where fans will be able to watch it. Mirror Online has contacted Laura's representatives for comment.

The teaser comes after the media star quit her BBC Radio 5 Live show earlier this month.

She started presenting her show four years ago, but reportedly wants to explore other opportunities.

Laura is currently presenting Love Island, with the new series coming to an end at the beginning of August.

Confirming her departure from Auntie Beeb, Heidi Dawson - controller of BBC Radio 5 Live - told MailOnline: "Laura has made the difficult decision to leave after a brilliant four years."

Heidi went on to pay tribute to Laura's work, saying: "We'd like to thank her for the energy, insight and humour she has brought to this programme and look forward to working with her again in the near future."

A source told The Sun that Laura was looking to "exploit" her growing fame and the opportunities which come with it.

The insider said: "Love Island has given her huge exposure and a healthy pay packet, and she's now going to exploit that to the max.

"Laura has already hinted she has other projects in the pipeline and she can't find the time to continue with all her roles."

They added: "Something had to go, and it's sad for listeners that this is what's been jettisoned as she moves onwards and upwards."
