Laura Dern, the Oscar-winning actress, has recently collaborated with Vestiaire Collective for a special closet sale to benefit Planned Parenthood. Dern expressed her support for accessible healthcare without shame, stigma, or judgment on her Instagram post.
Among the 10 items donated by Dern, some have already been sold, while others are still available for purchase. The collection includes a ruffled gold maxi dress from The Vampire’s Wife, a double-breasted red Calvin Klein coat, and a purple leather Oscar de la Renta dress.
Dern, a vocal advocate for circular fashion and Planned Parenthood, carefully curated pieces from her wardrobe for this sale. The aim is to raise awareness about destigmatizing sexual and reproductive healthcare, including abortion.
All proceeds from the sale will be donated to Planned Parenthood, with Vestiaire Collective also pledging an additional contribution to the organization in support of this collaboration.
While celebrities like Tiffany Haddish and Cate Blanchett have embraced recycling designer outfits, Dern has been a pioneer in promoting sustainable fashion on the red carpet. Notably, she wore the same black cutout Giorgio Armani gown to three different high-profile events between 1995 and 2020, including the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
