FERGUSON shipyard bosses are so confident about the launch date of the second of the two fiasco ferries that they've named the date.
A sign has been erected on scaffolding beside the hull of the ship stating that she'll hit the water on March 12 next year.
But due to the project being beset by ongoing delays Glen Rosa, which should have been in operation five years ago, won't be delivered to Caledonian MacBrayne until May 2025 - three months later than previously planned.
Also the capacity of the ferry and her troubled sister Glen Sannox may have to be reduced from 1000 passengers each to 852.
The yard’s chief executive, David Tydeman, has said the cost for completing the Glen Sannox has risen to £130 million (up from an estimated £114m in June) and for the Glen Rosa it has increased to £110m (up from £109m in June)
