Burnley winger Maxwel Cornet is due to have a medical in London on Thursday evening ahead of joining West Ham United in a £17.5million switch.
The Hammers have been interested in a move for the Ivory Coast international, who can also play as a wing-back and left-back, with David Moyes’ side looking to strengthen in that area ahead of the season starting against Manchester City on Sunday.
Football.London reported on Thursday morning that a bid of £17.5m had been accepted by the Clarets for Cornet following their relegation down to the Championship earlier this year. Cornet is now expected to have a medical ahead of completing a move to join the Hammers.

Cornet’s arrival would take West Ham to five completed signings for the summer and would take the club’s spending to around the £100m mark. Already, David Moyes’ side have signed Alphonse Areola, Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes and Gianluca Scamacca this summer.
A 29-time Ivory Coast international, who has also won 52 caps for France at youth level, Cornet scored nine goals in 26 Premier League outings last season, but was unable to stop a Burnley side now managed by Vincent Kompany from getting relegated.
Cornet was not in Burnley’s squad last Friday for their 1-0 win away at Huddersfield Town in their opening Championship game of the season. A move for Cornet is expected to end the club’s interest in Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic, who helped the German club win the Europa League last summer.
