Latest CBS Sports mock draft has the Vikings going offense early

Finally, a new prospect for the Minnesota Vikings Throughout the early portion of the offseason, the Vikings have typically been mocked for their cornerbacks.

That changed Wednesday when CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso released his latest mock draft and had the Vikings selecting Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

“The Vikings dip into the receiver well to complement Justin Jefferson. Awesome value here for the Vikings given Smith-Njigba’s injury in 2022 pushes him down the board.”

Adding a weapon like Smith-Njigba would be a huge boost to an offense that desperately needs someone opposite Justin Jefferson. While the Vikings still have guys like K.J. Osborn, Adam Theilen, and T.J. Hockenson, the team lacks someone who can’t take attention off Jefferson, as we saw countless times this past season.

Wide receiver is a position that’s barely talked about for the Vikings, and it could be a sneaky play, especially given how deep the cornerback class is.
