Late Late Toy Show star Saoirse Ruane is finally jetting off on her “dream holiday” to Disneyland Florida.
Saoirse’s account on Instagram, run by her mum, thanked Ryan Tubridy and Aer Lingus as they headed off to the States. She said: “This is it. After 21 long months full of highs and lows, we are very emotional today to be actually on our way.
“A mix of emotions (for obvious reasons) mainly that Saoirse is doing good in her recovery and finally gets to go on her amazing dream holiday. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this happen, Ryan Tubridy, Aer Lingus, thenLate Late Show, RTE, The Maldron, Premier Chauffeurs, Dublin Airport, and everyone we met along the way.
“We are even more grateful to get to experience this amazing holiday through our brave kind soul Saoirse. Stay tuned for lots of fun while we take you along with us to the lost magic place DisneyWorld Florida.”

10-years-old Saoirse is from Athenry in Galway, and she stole the hearts of the nation when she told her story of limb loss and childhood cancer on the Late Late Toy Show.
She has just been fitted with a new prosthesis which will help her to return to sport after battling cancer for a second time in June, when she underwent a major operation at Crumlin Hospital to remove a tumour from her lung.
Saoirse and Mamma added: “We’ll be on and off here making memories and enjoying this family time. It’s going to be special, that’s for sure. Thanks to everyone who helped us get ready for the trip. We have borrowed suitcases, holy water, meds and obligatory snacks. Thanks to our family for moving in and watering the plants.”
