Leaving Tubi soon
  • "Fried Green Tomatoes" (1991): A cozy, cathartic Southern drama with a dash of mystery.
  • "Tomb Raider" (2018): Alicia Vikander’s gritty, physical Lara Croft origin story.
  • "For Richer or Poorer" (1997): A nostalgic '90s comedy featuring Tim Allen and Kirstie Alley.

We’ve officially hit the final stretch of February—that weird, lingering phase of winter where the cold feels permanent and your watchlist looks way more inviting than the world outside. It’s the perfect time to hunker down, but it’s also when Tubi starts preparing to sweep its digital shelves for the new month.

While the service is great at refreshing its massive library, that also means a handful of solid movies are about to rotate out. Since Tubi is completely free (no subscriptions or credit cards, just a few ads), there’s really no reason to sleep on these titles. If you’ve been telling yourself you’ll “get to it soon,” consider this your final nudge to do that now.

You’ve only got a few days left to catch these genuine gems without paying a dime. Not sure what to prioritize before the selection switches up? Start with these favorites, ranging from cozy Southern dramas to gritty survival action, and make sure you hit play before these free movies disappear soon.

'Fried Green Tomatoes'

Take it all the way back to the early '90s with this classic based on Fannie Flagg's novel. A dissatisfied Alabama housewife named Evelyn Couch (Kathy Bates) strikes up an unlikely friendship with nursing home resident Ninny Threadgoode (Jessica Tandy).

Threadgoode recounts the story of two women at the 1920s Whistle Stop. She recalls Idgie Threadgoode (Mary Stuart Masterson) and Ruth Jamison (Mary-Louise Parker), their found-family community and the café they run together, as well as Ruth’s abusive husband, Frank Bennett (Nick Searcy), and his sudden disappearance. Soon, the story becomes more than a way for the pair to bond as Couch realizes she's made a forever friend out of Threadgoode.

'Tomb Raider'

Prep for the new "Tomb Raider" movie starring Sophie Turner by going back to Alicia Vikander's take on Lara Croft. A young Lara Croft (Alicia Vikander) is barely keeping her head above water in London, refusing to take control of her family’s empire. Doing so would mean accepting what everyone else insists is true: her father, adventurer Richard Croft (Dominic West), is gone for good.

Everything changes when she discovers a hidden message he left behind, sending her chasing the last thread of his disappearance to a remote island off the coast of Japan, where a legendary tomb and an old myth are tied to a very real power.

'For Richer or Poorer'

Brad and Caroline Sexton (Tim Allen and Kirstie Alley) are New York millionaires whose world collapses when their money vanishes overnight due to tax fraud. With nowhere to hide, they assume new identities and flee to an Amish community in Pennsylvania. They struggle to blend in and pretend they understand the way "common folk" live while a persistent government agent (Wayne Knight) keeps circling.

It'a a slapstick comedy that comes to you straight from the heart of the late '90s, and one that gives both actors space to shine with comedy gold that could only come from this type of pre-millennium silliness.
