The Las Vegas Strip has had a busy year so far in 2023 with several openings planned for new hotel-casino venues, headliner residencies and massive events.
The most notable and spectacular opening so far this year was Sphere Entertainment's (SPHR) -) Sphere at The Venetian Resort, which opened with its inaugural U2/UV Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere residency on Sept. 29 featuring U2, which runs through Dec. 16. Sources familiar with The Sphere's bookings say that the band will likely extend its residency into January.

Apollo Global Management (APO) -) renovated the former Opaline Theater at The Venetian Las Vegas and transformed the venue into a cabaret-style nightclub, Voltaire. International star singer Kylie Minogue sold out 20 shows scheduled for the venue's first residency that opens Nov. 3 and continues running in December, January, March, April and May. Pop megastar Christina Aguilera will be the second residency to occupy the Voltaire when she takes the stage New Year's Eve weekend Dec. 30-31 and adds shows later in 2024.
Kylie Minogue headlines F1's Amber Lounge
Voltaire will also host the exclusive and extravagant Amber Lounge F1 After Party on the final night of the The Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix on Nov. 18, featuring Kylie Minogue and DJ Jellybean Benitez. Tickets and VIP tables, both of which should be quite pricey, will go on sale soon at Voltairelv.com.
Speaking of the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix, the F1 Grand Prix's most expensive race on this season's circuit based on ticket prices and hotel rates rolls into Sin City Nov. 16-18 with over 100,000 people expected to attend the race each day.
One of the most anticipated hotel-casino openings that has been in the works for almost 20 years is the 67-story Fontainebleau Las Vegas on the North Strip, which consists of 3,644 rooms and suites, about 36 restaurant concepts and the 3,800-seat BleauLive Theater.
Post Malone opens Fontainebleau BleauLive Theater
Superstar singer Post Malone headlines the inaugural weekend of Fontainebleau Las Vegas' BleauLive on Dec. 30-31 to celebrate the grand opening of the new hotel-casino, which finally opens its doors Dec. 13.
"New Year's Eve is iconic in this city and I'm excited to ring in 2024 as the first headliner at Fontainebleau Las Vegas," Post Malone said in an Oct. 17 statement.
Tickets for both Post Malone shows go on sale at Ticketmaster during a Live Nation presale on Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. Pacific time priced at $150 plus taxes and fees. Tickets for the general public will go on sale Oct. 20, 10 a.m.
Fontainebleau will also offer New Year's Eve packages for both shows that include a two-night stay in one of the resort's rooms and suites, starting at $3,700. The package also includes a pair of Row A tickets to Post Malone's show at the BleauLive Theater on either night in addition to a $250 resort food and beverage credit. Packages and individual tickets can be purchased at fontainebleaulasvegas.com.

"We're incredibly proud to have Post Malone – one of the most sought-after and showstopping entertainers of his generation – make history as the first artist to perform for our guests following our Dec. 13 grand opening."
