Las Vegas Strip casino signs superstar to greatest hits residency

Guests of Las Vegas Strip resort hotels have a variety of popular entertainment residencies to choose from on their visits. The Strip has several mainstay residencies that seem to be always be featured in hotel-casino theaters.

Mr. Las Vegas Wayne Newton has never stopped performing on the Strip since he first headlined at the Flamingo in 1963. Newton, who turned 82 on April 3, has been performing since January 2022 in his current residency at the Wayne Newton Theater in Bugsy's Cabaret Flamingo Las Vegas and is booked through Dec. 30, 2024.

Then there's 1970's superstar pop singer Barry Manilow, who began his long-running residency off the Strip at the Westgate Las Vegas in February 2005. He continues to perform sellouts in the International Theater where Elvis Presley opened the hotel casino in 1969 back when it was the International Hotel, before becoming the Las Vegas Hilton, then Westgate.

Manilow has 21 more shows scheduled at the International Theater through Dec. 14, 2024, but don't be surprised if the "Copacabana" singer extends the residency into 2025.

Iconic rock band The Eagles roll into Sphere Entertainment's  (SPHR)  Sphere Las Vegas on Sept. 20 for a 16-show residency that is scheduled to end on Dec. 14, unless extended.

Country stars are also lined up for the Strip with Garth Brooks' Plus One residency performing at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in July, September, October and December. Shania Twain is at Caesars Entertainment's  (CZR)  Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood with shows in August, September, November and December, and Carrie Underwood's "Reflection" residency rolls through Resorts World Las Vegas in August and October.

Keith Urban's residency takes the stage at Fontainebleau's BleauLive Theater for five nights in October 2024 and another five shows in February 2025, and Brad Paisley returns to Wynn Resorts'  (WYNN)  Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas for a five-show acoustic residency "One Man Six Strings" Oct. 18, 19, Dec. 6, 7 and 8.

Wynonna Judd returns to the Venetian for residency

Finally, country superstar Wynonna Judd returns to the Las Vegas Strip in the Venetian Theatre at Apollo Global Management's  (APO)  the Venetian Las Vegas for her Greatest Hits residency Dec. 11, 13 and 14, 2024.

"Sometimes you just need to throw a big party for yourself!" Judd said in an Instagram post "This is a milestone year for me. Mom and I played our very first show in 1984, which means I’ve been performing for 40 years. That’s more than half of my life!

“The Greatest Hits in Las Vegas celebration is a chance for the fans and I to celebrate together. You all have been with me for so long and my hope is that everyone will get to hear their favorite song{s}. How many hits can we fit into one show? LET’S FIND OUT!!!!!!" she said.

Official Platinum, Wynonna Fan Club, Citi Cardmember, Live Nation, Ticketmaster, Radio, NFR and Sirius presales are underway and will end July 11 at 10 p.m. Pacific time. Tickets go on sale to the general public at Ticketmaster.com July 12 at 10 a.m. Pacific time.

Wynonna last performed on the Strip with her mother Naomi on the Judds' nine-show residency "Girls Night Out" in October 2015 at the Venetian Theatre. The Judds stormed onto the country charts in 1984 with their first album "Why Not Me," which reached No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. Top Country Albums chart, along with No. 1 singles "Mama He's Crazy" and "Why Not Me."

Wynonna is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and is a five-time Grammy Award winner.
