Hip-hop and rap stars are finally signing for major residencies on the Las Vegas Strip after a lack of headliner shows for many years.
Shows featuring top rappers and hip-hop acts were even hard to find off the Strip.

Wu-Tang Clan performed what is considered Sin City's first hip-hop residency at the Theater at Virgin Hotels for four shows over February and March 2024.

The most popular hip-hop show in Vegas, Lovers & Friends Festival, in 2023 featured hip-hop artists including 50 Cent, Pitbull, Busta Rhymes, and Master P & No Limit Soldiers. Lovers & Friends fans were disappointed in May 2024 on the night before that festival when it was canceled because of the threat of dangerous weather.
Hip-hop finally broke through to the Strip in July 2024 when Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino hosted its first major hip-hop residency when legendary New York hip-hop stars Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Slick Rick, and Doug E. Fresh joined DJ Cassidy for his "Pass the Mic Live" residency for six shows.
The biggest rap solo residency to debut on the Strip was superstar rapper Lil Wayne's rare dual residency at rival casinos Drai's Nightclub in Caesars Entertainment's The Cromwell on June 29 and July 12 at Zouk Las Vegas in Genting Group's Resorts World Las Vegas.
Legendary hip-hop artist Nas performed sold-out shows on his residency in the Encore Theater at the Wynn Resort on Aug. 29, 31, and Sept. 1, backed by the Las Vegas Philharmonic. The residency celebrated the 30th anniversary of the superstar's groundbreaking "Illmatic" album that he released in April 1994.
Nas will return to his classic Las Vegas Strip residency at the Encore Theater, also accompanied by the Las Vegas Philharmonic, for three more shows Feb. 5, 7, and 8 in 2025.

Finally, iconic rap superstar 50 Cent has signed on for his first Las Vegas Strip residency with six shows at Caesars Entertainment's (CZR) PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Dec. 27, 28, 30, and 31, 2024, and Jan. 3-4, 2025.
Curtis Jackson, known as 50 Cent, revealed his "In Da Club" residency on Oct. 15 with a message on Instagram.

"My first residency is going to be an experience, you don't wanna miss this! I'll be doing 6 Exclusive shows December 27-January 4 at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Tickets on sale Saturday," 50 Cent wrote.

50 Cent followed up that success with the No. 1 album "The Massacre" with the No. 1 hit single "Candy Shop."
