Las Vegas Strip casino signs legendary pop band for residency

The Las Vegas Strip's theaters are packed with headliners who either perform several shows on long-running residencies or return each year to perform usually six to 15 sold-out shows for their fans.

Visitors to the Strip will recognize many regular headliners who perform throughout the year in the theaters, including Mr. Las Vegas Wayne Newton, who performs at the Flamingo's Bugsy's Cabaret Showroom through Dec. 30, 2024, or Osmond Brothers singer Donny Osmond.

Osmond began his residency at Harrah's Las Vegas Showroom in August 2021 and continues his long-running residency through Nov. 16, 2024.

Several other popular bands, such Chicago or Earth Wind & Fire, usually roll through Vegas for an annual residency and keep coming back.

Lately, hotel-casinos on the Strip have booked several headliners for their first-ever residencies.

Las Vegas-based rock band The Killers just finished performing their first residency in their hometown, which ran for 10 shows from Aug. 14 through Sept. 1 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Country star Blake Shelton, who recently opened his Ole Red bar at Caesars' Horseshoe Resort casino, has scheduled his first residency on the Strip with six performances at Caesars Entertainment's  (CZR)  The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from Feb. 5-15, 2025.

Finally, ground-breaking boy band New Kids On the Block brings its "The Right Stuff" residency to MGM Resorts International's MGM Dolby Live at Park MGM for 16 shows in June, July, and November 2025.

More Las Vegas Strip:

New Kids On the Block fans will be pleased that all of the original members of the group – Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre and Danny Wood – will perform their hits songs on the Dolby Live stage, including "You Got It (The Right Stuff)," "Hangin' Tough," "I'll be Loving You," and "Cover Girl," all from their blockbuster second album, "Hangin' Tough" that hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 1989. The single "Hangin' Tough" also hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The sensational boy band followed those monumental achievements with its second No. 1 album "Step By Step" in 1990. The band's success paved the way for other popular boy bands, including NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, and 98 Degrees.

New Kids On the Block last month completed a 47-show summer tour on Aug. 25 in Noblesville, Ind.
