Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a "lovely young man" and talented hurler who died tragically following a fatal car crash in Tipperary.
Adam Kirwan (22) from Laois, was killed in the early hours of Thursday morning at College Green in Thurles, after the car he was travelling in was involved in a single-vehicle collision.
Condolences have been expressed for the young man from Derrough, Mountrath, who represented Laois up until U-20 and who recently claimed a Ryan Cup with Mary Immaculate College only two weeks ago.

"Hard to believe what has happened," said Finn Ó Murchú, Head of School at MIC Thurles.
Adam was a first year BA Education, Gaeilge and Religious Studies student in MIC Thurles. Both MIC Thurles and MIC Limerick's main campus have opened a book of condolence.
MIC Thurles Campus GAA wrote in tribute: "A sad day for all in Pats as we lost our number 8 and our brother Adam Kirwan. Our thoughts and prayers are with Paul, Lourda, Marie and all of Adam’s family and friends at this sad time. Love you bud."
Trumera GAA, Adam's local club where he was a top forward, helping them claim a 2021 intermediate hurling championship, paid tribute to the young man who lost his life.
"As a club and community we are heartbroken. Adam lit up all our lives on and off the pitch," they said.
One condolence offered to his family said: "Such a sad day for anyone that knew Adam, a gentleman taken in his prime, thinking of you Lourda, Paul, Marie and all his relatives, a huge loss to a small community."
Another, addressing his heartbroken dad Paul and mam Lourda, described Adam as a "wonderful son."
They said: "The whole town is in total shock. He was a credit to ye, a fantastic hurler, an amazing lad, his smile would light up the whole room."
Adam will be sadly missed by his heartbroken parents, his sister, grandparents Timmy and Mary Kirwan, aunts and uncles, cousins, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
Reposing at his home on Saturday evening from 3pm, concluding with a rosary at 9pm.
Removal on Sunday afternoon to St Fintan's Church Mountrath, for Requiem Mass at 2pm, followed by burial in St Fintan's Cemetery, Mountrath.
One final tribute said he "touched the lives of so many people."
"Such a good class mate. It's just heartbreaking. Our thoughts and prayers are with ye at this very sad time. May he RIP."
