Landowner BURIES footpath under tonnes of earth in bitter dispute with residents

A bitter land dispute has broken out after a man used a mechanical digger to bury a footpath under tonnes of earth after a row with his neighbours.

The route - a set of concrete steps - was an integral link between the tight-knit hillside community and the village of Trelewis below, according to residents of Stormtown in the Taff Bargoed Valley.

The steps have been in use since houses were first built there in the 1920s but, last month, they were covered over with soil by skip hire boss Christopher Rees, who bought the land two years ago, Wales Online reported.
