Lando Norris confirmed his villa was robbed while on holiday with friends ahead of this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix.
Norris has been the target of thieves before. He was accosted by two men when he attended the Euro 2020 final at Wembley Stadium, and had his expensive Richard Mille watch taken.
And reports emerged earlier this week suggesting Norris had again been targeted by thieves. The McLaren star confirmed the crime had taken place when speaking to the Press Association in Austria on Thursday.
Norris, 23, was on holiday in the south of Spain with friends for a few days when the robbery took place. "We were out for dinner and our place got robbed," said the British racer.
"A mixture of many things were stolen. Some were expensive and some were not so expensive. It is still an ongoing conversation so I cannot say too much."
The F1 star was not the only one who lost personal possessions in the raid. One of the friends he was holidaying with, influencer Jennie Dimova, took to social media to share her despair over losing treasured items.
She said: "If you are wondering why I look like that it is because our villa got robbed and everything I have ever owned – my clothes, my shoes, my bags, my jewellery – everything has been taken. I am left with literally nothing. I cried for two hours but what can I do?"
The incident comes two years after Norris was the victim of that other robbery at Wembley. The Brit was placed in a headlock by one man while another wrenched his unique £144,000 watch from his wrist.
The timepiece, one of only five in the world, was even more unique thanks to the blue strap which was made to measure for Norris' wrist.
Liam Williams, 25, from Bootle, Merseyside, faced trial in March accused of being one of the men involved in the robbery after his DNA was found on the driver's wrist. But he denied robbery and, after just under two hours of deliberation, a jury found him not guilty of the offence.
