Landholders step up to secure 'stronghold' koala population in the NSW high country

For landholders on koala country in south eastern NSW, finding evidence of koalas on their property is all about knowing where – and how – to look.

From the Tinderry mountains south of Canberra to Kybeyan and eastward to the Badja State Forest, a 100,000-hectare stretch of land has been recognised as an Area of Regional Koala Significance (ARKS), with a "stronghold" population centred around the small Snowy Monaro community of Numeralla.
