It was the end of the road for Lanarkshire teacher Kevin Flynn on last night's episode of the Great British Bake Off.
Kevin Flynn was knocked out the competition on Channel 4 during Custard Week.
The 33-year-old from Motherwell, now living in Hamilton, says he's proud of his time on the hit show and has thanked the thousands of locals who have cheered him on all the way.
As the weeks went on, the baking challenges got harder but Kevin still managed to find himself among the final six contestants.
And despite some high praise for his "perfectly set" custard last night, his time on the show was up. But the local baker held his head high as he bowed out.
Kevin said on the show: "I'm nothing but proud. The imposter syndrome is real and coming into this competition I didn't feel like I deserved a place.
"But I feel like I can count myself as one of this talented bunch."
Custard Week presented Kevin with three tricky sweet dishes to make in the iconic tent but embraced the challenge straight away with his take on poached meringue floating on creme anglaise, adding prosecco to his signature challenge.
Next up was the technical challenge with the bakers having to perform in staggered start and finish times as they were tasked with making ice cream cones.
It seemed to land Kevin in a safe enough position after being placed third by judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith.
But disaster struck at the final hurdle when the Hamilton teacher's ambitious showstopper cake began to collapse.
He made three litres of custard for his three tiers custard gateau which he called 'My Honey Valentine'.
Everything seemed to be going to plan until his top two tiers took a wobble, prompting the snap decision to present it on two stands.
In a heart-warming moment, Kevin's fellow bakers rushed to his aid to help finish his cake, but by then the writing seemed to already be on the wall.
Presenter Matt Lucas helped carry Kevin's cake to the judges where immediately Paul asked "has there been an earthquake?"
But despite its failures in presentation, Prue and Paul fell in love with the flavours, admitting it was "delicious" but "a shame it looked a mess".
Sadly for Kevin, the other five contestants put in an impressive performance overall on the episode which left him heading for the exit door in an emotional farewell.
Kevin, humbled by his time on the show, took to social media afterwards.
He said: "Man alive, what an experience!
"One of the hardest things I've ever done, but oh, I'd do it all over again tomorrow.
"Thank you to whoever had the ridiculous notion to let me loose in the tent! I hope I've brought a little joy to the show and those who cheered me on at home.
"In our part of Scotland, we take life seriously, but don't take ourselves too seriously and so I shall continue!"
