A college student from Airdrie was invited on stage to play with one of the biggest bands in the world.
Erin Paterson is a lifelong Green Day fan and went to their gig on Wednesday at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow.
The band asked if anyone could play the guitar and wanted to join them on stage and singer Billie Joe Armstrong noticed Erin with his sign.
He invited the 17-year-old on stage and showed him the chords for the song Knowledge.
Impressed with his skills, he let Erin play along with the band's hit song Basket Case straight after.
Erin knew the song perfectly and the crowd erupted in cheer for the young guitarist.
Speaking with Lanarkshire Live, Erin said: "I have been playing guitar for six or seven years and have loved Green Day for as long as I can remember.
"I had made a sign for a laugh as I knew that sometimes the band invites people on stage.
"The sign said, 'can I play Basket Case,' but I never thought it would be me.
"It all still doesn't feel real, I was on stage for around ten minutes but it felt like seconds.
"I even got gifted the guitar that I was playing and it is signed by Billie Joe."
Erin, who is an HNC music student at Motherwell College, is now looking to start a band.
And he thinks that this experience will help him get there.
He said: "I would love to play in a band and I think playing on stage with Green Day will be a huge help."
