A well-known pub in South Lanarkshire is going up for auction at a guide price of £50,000 with the property boasting its own three-bedroom flat.
The Talisker Inn in Forth will be going under the hammer at Auction House Scotland’s in-room auction. This will take place at 2.00pm on Thursday November 3 at the Radisson RED hotel, 25 Tunnel Street, Glasgow.
The property sits midway between Edinburgh and Glasgow, and is easily accessible from the M8 motorway and A706 road. The village of Forth is surrounded by countryside, which makes it a popular area for outdoor pursuits such as the Forth and Clyde Canal Cycling and Walking Route.

The Talisker Inn, located on the village’s Main Street, ran for decades until closing its doors two years ago amidst the pandemic. The premises are comprised of a main bar area, a former pool room, a fitted kitchen complete with appliances, ladies and gents’ toilets, and a cellar.
Additionally, the pub includes a beer garden space. Moving up to the flat, it includes three bedrooms, a dining-sized kitchen, a utility room, a shower room, and a lounge overlooking a roof terrace to the rear.
Meanwhile, the land to the rear of the building offers off-street parking for numerous vehicles. There are also three garages, one of which is currently being utilised as a snooker room.
Mandi Cooper, Managing Director of Auction House Scotland said: “This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a renowned village pub with potential for a variety of developments.
The existing premises could be revived as a pub, whilst there is also scope for development into a new bar/restaurant or many other business opportunities for this area of South Lanarkshire.”
“The addition of a great condition three-bedroom flat alongside the pub only adds to the opportunities a potential buyer has with the purchase of this property.”
For those interested in viewing The Talisker Inn ahead of the auction, an Open Viewing is taking place on Wednesday 26th October between 12.00 – 12.30pm.
