A dad who set up a lockdown support group is encouraging Lanarkshire residents to sign up.
Scott McLeod from Glasgow set up the Facebook group ‘Lockdown with the kids’ with his mum several years ago.
The group welcomes both mums and dads seeking advice and support and anyone anywhere is welcome to join and he's now trying to recruit more Lanarkshire parents into the group.
Scott told Lanarkshire Live : “I saw a few Facebook groups and thought it would be a good idea to set one up. I’m a full-time dad to my little boy, Archie.
“The group helped us to meet new people and make new friends. It started to grow a lot during lockdown, due to the fact people weren’t allowed out of their homes.
“My group gave them somewhere to chat, ask for advice and make new friends. We’ve had a few meet ups and plan to do more over the summer holidays.
“We currently have over 12,000 members from all over. I want to encourage more people to join and I think it would benefit people in the Lanarkshire area and would love to have them join.
"It’s a great way to meet new people. I think we'll continue to expand and other people from other areas will join and hopefully it'll keep growing.
"I like keeping the group as safe as possible so all Facebook profiles are checked before being accepted into the group."
Scott has posted information about the group over several Lanarkshire social media, such as the Rutherglen page to try and encourage more people to consider joining.
“I have plans set up for the future. I’m trying to get a premise to do like a play group idea for all ages.
“I’m also trying to arrange a sort of meet just for adults.”
