Lanarkshire jobs fears after confirmation that retailer McColl's has gone into administration

Convenience chain McColl's has gone bust putting dozens of jobs in its 18 Lanarkshire stores at risk.

Over 1000 stores (1100) and 16,000 jobs are at risk across Scotland after the retailer confirmed the news and will appoint administrators.

McColl's said discussions with its lenders collapsed on Friday as creditors refused to extend a deadline for the retailer to find more cash.
