A football club is urging those who may be struggling to come forward and use its new community larder.
Newmains United launched the initiative last month as part of an ongoing commitment to give back to the local community.
James Wynn took control of the club in February and has made it a priority to have Newmains United as an integral part of the town.
He hopes that, with the rising costs of living, those who may be struggling will come forward and use the larder.
James said: "The Dallies Community Larder is open to anyone, no questions asked.
"We want it to be there for the community because we understand how tough life has been recently.
"Anyone is able to come and use the larder. We have a container at the football park and always post the opening times on our Facebook.
"We want people to come and make use of the food we have here or else it will just go to waste."
The container is set up at the Newmains United ground, Victoria Park.
People are invited to use the facility and can take anything they need and can also stay for a hot drink and a chat.
James and his team are hoping that with the introduction of the Dallies Community Larder, the club will become better known to residents.
He explained: "We want Newmains United to be known in the community, not just for football but for a whole host of other things.
"We are just starting out and I have a lot of other ideas that I want to realise with the club and the facilities we have.
"We will be having a Summer Fayre next month and I also want to run youth groups too. I want the club to be at the heart of Newmains.
"I have so many ideas in my head for what I want to do for this club, we are just getting started.
"We are also running a logo competition for the Dallies Community Larder. We want local kids to design a logo for the larder that will be used on volunteers' uniforms.
"People can email their entries to newmainsunitedfc@outlook.com, and there will be a prize for the winner."
