Lanarkshire community centre staff hope to raise money after Kiltwalk effort

Staff at a Wishaw community centre are hoping to raise funds after taking part in the grueling Kiltwalk.

MAde4U in ML2 decided to take part in the 23-mile-long walk from Glasgow to Balloch to raise funds for the young people of Wishaw.

Staff members Rory Jamieson, David Taylor, James Garrity and Saphire Gilmour all took part in the event on Sunday, April 24.

Youth development officer David Taylor told Lanarkshire Live: "Members of our team took part in the Kiltwalk Mighty Stride, walking every single gruelling, long, difficult mile.

"On the days back at the centre the staff have been hobbling about and even in slippers.

"We did this walk to raise money for the young people of Wishaw, this would be used for resources and trips for young people.

"We want to thank everyone who was following us, supporting and has already sent over money.

"Fundraising is still active and every penny helps us out."

You can still donate to the team here.
