A Rutherglen club celebrated the Platinum Jubilee with a day full of fun activities for both children and adults.
The 20 Social Club on Cathcart Road organised face painting, dancing, crown designing and many other things for those who wanted to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s ascension to the throne.
It all took place last Friday afternoon and proved to be popular with all who attended.
Cameron Leask, president of the 20 Social Club, told Lanarkshire Live: “Our full-day event went really well. The kids enjoyed the afternoon entertainment and the adults enjoyed the evening songs.
“The turnout was amazing, it was more than anticipated. The hall was full of families throughout the afternoon and the kids enjoyed the various activities provided, from the DJ playing their favourite songs to the face painting. They had a ball.
“The social club committee were the ones who came up with the idea of the party. We set up the small committee of Carron McLellan, Grace Hill, Linda Bates and Kenny McGail and myself and we put our minds together and came up with the idea.
“The sandwiches and sausage rolls went down really well along with some sweet treats.
“Then in the evening, the adults danced away to songs from the past seven decades, the music was provided by local entertainer Julie Chisholm.
“All in, it was a great day.”
