A Cambuslang church took to the skies with their kite festival.
Nurture, a non-profit educational institution, hosted the event at Cambuslang Park on Saturday, June, 18.
Everyone was invited along and children enjoyed flying their kites, as well as participating in events like tug-of-war and sack races.
Yunus Akyuz, of Nurture Educational Multicultural Society, told Lanarkshire Live : “We’re excited to have hosted our second ever kite festival. Both kids and adults participated in activities and had a lot of fun.
“Different kites took the wind of Cambuslang behind them. This year’s theme was ‘Let’s paint the Cambuslang sky’ and we believe that this would strengthen the community feeling for people of all ages, and celebrate the arrival of summer.
“We’re very excited about our next kite festivals to come, and we hope to see many more people next year.”
The festival was attended by Rutherglen and Hamilton West MP, Margaret Ferrier.
The MP added: “It was great to join constituents at Cambuslang’s kite festival this weekend, which was good fun for everyone who made it.
“The Nurture Society did an excellent job pulling the event together, and it was really nice to see the kites flying in the clear skies on Saturday as the community came together.”
