A Lanarkshire Boys' Brigade company had a historic day last month as they held a dedication of their new colours.
The 217th Gilbertfield Company of the Boys' Brigade held a parade to Flemington Hallside Church in Cambuslang followed by the service, then a march past.
The church service consisted of the laying up of the old colours by way of showing appreciation for their symbol of service, and then dedicating them to the life and work of the Rt Hon Capt Charlie Black. The new colours were then dedicated by the minister for service within the company.
The old colours will now go on display.
Company captain, Glenn Jamieson, told Lanarkshire Live: "This is a historic event for our Company as this will be the only time this will happen in the life of even our youngest member.
"They were only renewed due to the name change several years ago, from 217th Glasgow Company to 217th Gilbertfield Company, when we changed Battalions from Glasgow to Hamilton to be closer to competitions and events for the boys.
"It is very unlikely this will ever happen again."
The day also saw Jack Brady honoured with his President's Badge, the second highest award in the Boys' Brigade.
To receive the award, boys have to have good attendance for one full session, complete a faith development course, participate in a team work skills exercise and be recommended by the Captain.
Glenn added: "Jack Brady has overcome so many personal challenges to achieve this award. I have seen him grow from a shy junior section boy to the fine young man he is today.
"In September 2021, Jack came on company camp without external support for the first time and we were all a bit worried, but Jack is always surprising us, and he accepted each and every challenge set out to him and even had fun along the way.
"As Captain I could not be any prouder of Jack and what he has achieved to date. Jack has embarked on the road to achieving his Queen's Badge in 2023, which is the Highest Award in the Boys Brigade, and once achieved that he will be one of a select few Queen's Men."
