A new baby and toddler charity shop hopes to help hard-up families during the cost-of-living crisis.
Staffed by volunteers from Share Alike food bank and run by charity founder Anne Marie Campbell, their new venture Babbies 'n' Bairns aims to help young families struggling to make ends meet.
The Cornwall Way store has a variety of Halloween items - all free of charge - and other toddler and baby items in stock.
Staff are appealing to the local community for Christmas items, clothing and baby and toddler supplies which will be distributed to local families across the constituency.
With many families facing a difficult winter ahead, this shop is sure to make a crucial difference to those in need across East Kilbride.
Anne Marie Campbell, head of the project, said: "I was delighted to open the Babbies 'n' Bairns project in East Kilbride which we hope will help those most in need families as difficult times are set to continue for local children across the constituency.
"We would also appeal ahead of Christmas if anyone has any spare pre-loved donations they would consider us, as they will be distributed freely to families in need over the tough winter ahead."
Dr Lisa Cameron MP officially opened Babbies 'n' Bairns in East Kilbride this week.
She said: "It was a privilege this week to officially open Babbies 'n' Bairns in East Kilbride town centre, run by Anne Marie from the Share Alike Cafe with a specific focus on helping those locally who have young families through the cost of living crisis.
"The volunteers are doing an amazing job and they are looking for Christmas items, donations of children's items, clothing and baby supplies.
"There are Halloween costumes there already for children who may be dressing up this year so please do pop in to have a look."
