A group of Lanarkshire artists have benefitted from a fantastic funding boost of over £7000.
The Hillhouse and Earnock Art Group in Hamilton were delighted to see the cash from The National Lottery Community Fund which will contribute greatly to running costs as well as providing trips for local painters to go see different exhibitions.
It also allows the group to welcome an array of expertise to their sessions such as visiting tutors like artist and sculptor Yvonne Taylor from Motherwell and soon-to-attend pastel artist Lynn Howarth.
Yvonne has just completed a three-week acrylic painting course with the group which was enjoyed by all.
External tutors allow the local artists to develop their skills and learn from different perspectives of art.
The Hillhouse and Earnock Art Group's resident tutor Heather Darling said she was delighted to see the group being awarded a total of £7501 from The National Lottery Community Fund.
She explained how the money will also enable the group to purchase a variety of art materials.
The group is made up of three sections totalling 30 people and at present is fully subscribed.
However, they hope many locals will be able to come and see a large exhibition in The East Kilbride Arts Centre which will take place later this year on Monday, October 3, through until - Sunday, October 30 from 10am to 8pm each day.
