A group of Lanarkshire artists are looking forward to showing off their fantastic work at an exhibition next month.
The annual event takes place between Saturday, October 8, until Saturday, October 29, with plenty of paintings set to be on display for local art lovers to come and see.
The Hillhouse and Earnock Art Group, which is based in Hamilton, were delighted to see the significant sum of £7501 of funding awarded by The National Lottery Community Fund earlier this year. The money has already contributed greatly to running costs, as well as providing trips for local painters to go and see different exhibitions.
Now, the talented artists will showcase their own work at East Kilbride Arts Centre in the coming weeks.
The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm every day and Lanarkshire residents are invited to view many great submissions.
A poster highlighting the event states: "Established in 2003 by former art teacher Heather Darling, this exhibition displays a selection of acrylics, watercolours and pastels from her three groups, two held in Hillhouse Parish Church Hall and one in Hamilton Rugby Club.
"Each artist is encouraged to develop their own style within a given them.
"There are three sessions a year. Materials, tuition, visiting artists/tutors and art trips are included in session fee.
"These have been greatly enhanced this year thanks to a substantial award from The National Lottery Community Fund.
"We hope you enjoy our exhibition."
The funding has allowed the group to welcome an array of expertise to their sessions such as visiting tutors like artist and sculptor, Yvonne Taylor, from Motherwell and pastel artist, Lynn Howarth.
Yvonne has just completed a three-week acrylic painting course with the group which was enjoyed by all.
External tutors allow the local artists to develop their skills and learn from different perspectives of art.
The Hillhouse and Earnock Art Group's resident tutor Heather said she was delighted to see the group being awarded a total of £7501 from The National Lottery Community Fund.
The group is made up of three sections totalling 30 people and at present is fully subscribed.
