Lana Del Rey fans urge her not to 'ruin' next UK gig after as her dad praises 'epic' show

Lana Del Rey fans have urged her not to ruin her next UK gig after she was cut off at Glastonbury.

The 38-year-old brought Summertime Sadness to Worthy Farm when she turned up 30 minutes late for her headline set on The Other Stage on Saturday night.

But due to her late start – and even getting her hair styled on stage - Lana ended up going over her allotted performance time.

This meant organisers cut off her microphone and stopped the video link to the screens, as Glastonbury has a strict midnight curfew for the large stages.

After being greeted with boos as she walked on stage, some of the crowd were in tears when they realised she couldn’t finish the gig.

As a result she got the crowd to sing along to her hit Video Games and the singer looked like she was about to cry herself as she was led away.

As Lana’s dad Robert Grant took to Instagram to congratulate his daughter on her ‘epic’ set, fans had a message for Lana in the comments below.

One wrote: “Hi Rob, I was really happy that Lana tried to do everything she could about the whole situation and I really appreciate that.

“Please, Please, Please (I’m begging lol) can you make sure she’s not late for the Hyde Park performance. I feel like it’s something more than to do with her hair and she was just saying this whilst up there.

“Whatever it is, please try to make sure she’s on time. She will be a solo headliner and fans won’t be very happy if she’s late again. The die hard fans will be at this show!!!

“I’m coming all the way from Manchester, spent all my money on train, hotel and golden circle tickets. This will be Lana’s last performance in the UK and she needs to leave a positive reputation!”

Another commented: “It’s her third time in a row being late now and she wasn’t able to sing a full setlist. We want to hear everything.”

“Look Rob, with all my heart, this whole issue with delays needs to be addressed by the team!,” a third chimed in. “You’re part of her team too, right? You could talk to the staff and improve time management. This didn’t happen before... it just damages her image, you know... She feels guilty and it’s not her fault. Take care of her.”

A fourth added: “Pls Rob, no more festivals. She can do a solo tour. She can do whatever she wants on her own show.”

Other fans were more sympathetic and praised her trying to carry onith her performance after the plug was pulled.

“Tell her we love her even more now. What she did after the cut was so human, makes me appreciate her much more,” one wrote.

“An amazing performance. The artistry and ideas that went into it was beautifully done. And so what if she was late, she really rocked it!!!,” said another

Blasting Glastonbury organisers, a third posted: “Not so epic of them. We love her and she deserves respect from the coordinators. She did not get that respect today. I’m so mad at Glastonbury. Hope she will be able to fully enjoy Hyde Park with us! Love her.”

The Mirror has reached out to Lana’s reps for further comment on this story.
