British Punk duo Lambrini Girls have dropped out of Coachella after lead singer Phoebe Lunny fractured her neck and sustained a brain injury.
Lunny told fans in an Instagram post Thursday: “We have to pull out of Coachella and reschedule our whole American headline tour. Long story short: I fractured my neck and have an acute brain injury.”
She explained that the injury happened while visiting Australia, and she received late treatment as a result of her condition being “misdiagnosed.”
“Doctor’s orders are I can’t fly or perform for six weeks,” she said, adding that their shows in the UK and the EU in June onwards were still going ahead.
In a photo shared alongside the announcement, Lunny posed in a hospital gown, looking over her shoulder as she showed off her bare backside. She also added broken heart emojis around the image.

Lunny added that she and her bandmate, the bassist Lilly Macieira, were “gutted” to miss the show, writing: “We have received quite a lot of messages re Coachella…We want to be there so bad.”
“If it was a broken leg, I would do a Dave Grohl and play it,” she continued, referencing a 2015 concert in which the Foo Fighters frontman performed from a chair after fracturing his fibula. “This isn't something we are taking lightly and we are really sad.”
She continued: “Because it is my neck and brain, our hands are tied for now, but I’m lucky and expect a speedy recovery thank f***.”
Lunny also addressed American ticket holders, writing that “it’s dark times, especially in the states.”
“Making space for subversion and resistance is at the core of what this band is about,” she said. “Seeing people of all ages, genders and backgrounds come together to mosh, lift each other up, chant, cry, scream in both parts joyful and angry, is my greatest joy.”
The punk duo was slated to perform Saturday at 3 p.m., but former White Stripes frontman Jack White will step in to fill the slot in the Mojave tent.
Lambrini Girls, from Brighton, UK, was formed in 2021 and released their debut album Who Let the Dogs Out in 2025, which included songs “Company Culture,” “Big D*** Energy” and “Love.”
The album received widespread praise from critics and peaked in 16th place on the UK Albums chart.
