It’s been a tough past half-year or so for Lamar Jackson.
First, the Ravens missed the playoffs for the first time in his career. Then, in the off-season, Baltimore traded Jackson’s favorite security blanket — Marquise “Hollywood” Brown — to the Cardinals. As much as he apparently knew it was coming, the move did not make Jackson happy.
With all that in mind, Jackson is currently set to play out the last year of his rookie contract without an extension. The former unanimous MVP and two-time Pro Bowler is one of the best players in pro football. That means many, including potentially Jackson, might be confounded that he hasn’t signed a new mega-deal yet.
So when the superstar QB recently changed his Instagram profile picture to a photo of teeth that reads, “I need $,” fans started to speculate if Jackson was frustrated by negotiations with the Ravens:

There’s no way to confirm that Jackson’s social media statement was 100 percent related to any gripes with Baltimore. (It’s worth noting, according to the Ravens, that Jackson doesn’t have an agent and represents himself.)
But, on its face, if the new Instagram picture is connected to ongoing talks with the Ravens — it doesn’t look good for both parties with the 2022 NFL season less than two months away:
