With about a month and a half to go before the NBA’s trade deadline, the Los Angeles Lakers’ preferred targets in a potential trade are pretty well known.
They’ve been rumored to be interested in the Indiana Pacers’ Buddy Hield and Myles Turner, Bojan Bogdanovic of the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls wing DeMar DeRozan, among others.
But L.A. has always been fixated on stars and superstars, for better or worse, and some reports make it seem like the franchise still desires to build some sort of superteam.
The latest rumor has the Lakers interested in Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal and even Kevin Durant.
Via The Athletic:
“In the ultimate pie-in-the-sky scenario, the Lakers have interest in Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal if any of the three stars were to become available.”
It’s hard to imagine any of the three becoming available anytime soon. Beal’s Washington Wizards are just 11-18 after a promising start, but he seems content to remain in the nation’s capital, at least for now.
Lillard’s squad, the Portland Trail Blazers, is 16-13 and firmly in the hunt for a playoff spot, while Durant’s Brooklyn Nets have sprouted to fourth place in the Eastern Conference after a lackluster start.
