The start of the 2023-24 NBA regular season is almost here, and that means teams are finalizing their rosters with opening night approaching.
The Los Angeles Lakers have played five preseason games with one to go. Earlier this week, they started to tighten their roster by releasing Scotty Pippen Jr. and two others. Head coach Darvin Ham has said he will play his regular rotation players for three quarters on Thursday when his team takes on the Phoenix Suns in the Inland Empire.
The Lakers made one minor roster move prior to that contest by signing Louis King.

King is a 6-foot-7 forward who went undrafted in 2019 after one season of college basketball at the University of Oregon. A native of North Jersey, he has had stints with the Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings and Philadelphia 76ers, while also playing for the Westchester Knicks, Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Delaware Blue Coats of the G League.
In his only game with the Sixers, which came last season, King scored 20 points while going 4-of-8 from 3-point range. He showed some promise with his outside shooting while with the G League Knicks during the 2020-21 campaign.
