In his 21st season and about three weeks away from his 39th birthday, LeBron James is showing no signs of slowing down at all.
He has been putting up his usual impressive numbers, and so far this season, he has been as efficient as he’s ever been. Through 22 regular season games, the four-time MVP is averaging 25.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists a game while shooting 55.3% from the field and 40.7% from 3-point range.
Therefore, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that the Los Angeles Lakers have a 14-9 record and have won 11 of their last 15 games. While they’re only in fifth place in the Western Conference, they’re just one game behind the second-place Oklahoma City Thunder.
Per SiriusXM NBA Radio, head coach Darvin Ham says that James should be the favorite to win the regular season MVP assuming he continues to play the way he has.

With 24 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, James helped lead the Lakers to the inaugural NBA Cup on Saturday while winning the in-season tournament MVP. It will be hard for him to win the main MVP award, but perhaps this summer he will add his fifth world championship trophy to his collection.
