The Lakers have acquired forward Rui Hachimura from the Washington Wizards in exchange for guard Kendrick Nunn and three second-round picks, according to people with knowledge of the situation not authorized to speak publicly on the situation.
Hachimura fills a need for the Lakers' lack of size on the wing, according to one person. He's 6-feet-8 and weighs 230 pounds.
Hachimura was averaging 13.0 points per game with the Wizards, 4.3 rebounds and shooting 48.8% from the field, 33.7% from three-point range.
He's still young at 24, and was the ninth overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft out of Gonzaga.
Hachimura will earn $6.2 million this season and is looking for a contract extension from the Lakers.
