Canadian figures have met President Donald Trump’s command to rename Lake Ontario as "Lake America" with ridicule rather than anger.

On Saturday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford responded by unveiling a giant billboard along the Canadian shore bearing the message: "Lake Ontario. Now and Always".
