Lake Mead Barrel Victim Finally Identified, but His Name Is Still Unreleased Ahead of Police Briefing

Las Vegas authorities have identified the man whose body was discovered inside a barrel at Lake Mead more than four years ago. The Clark County coroner's office and police announced the breakthrough on Wednesday, 14 October 2026.

Boaters found the remains near Hemenway Harbor on 1 May 2022, after falling water levels exposed the barrel. Examiners established that the man died from a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.
