White storks are set to return to London for the first time in 600 years as part of City Hall’s latest efforts to “rewild” the capital.
The breeding colony of storks will be established in Eastbrookend Country Park in Dagenham next year – with a family of beavers, the second to be reintroduced to an urban site in the capital, arriving in 2027.
