Two mates went out to pub with the intention of being back in bed by 11.30pm, but ended up on a 4am flight to Ibiza with nothing but their passports, phone chargers and wallets.
Friends Dan Evans and Alex Stubbs went out for a Friday afternoon drink to one of their locals in Merthyr, Wales.
But, instead of getting back before midnight, the duo didn’t even get back to the country until two days later, after an impromptu holiday to Ibiza, Wales Online reported .
When they were out drinking someone suggested the pair head out to Magaluf in Majorca.
Instead of taking it as a joke, or laughing it off, the pair decided it was a great idea and jumped in a taxi to Cardiff Airport.
Dan, 23, said: "We stopped off at home to collect our passports and phone chargers, and then headed to the airport.
"When we got there though the Majorca flight was fully-booked, but there was a flight to Ibiza, so we booked ourselves on to that one. "
Without a hotel or a return flight booked, the pair bought themselves some shorts and then headed straight to the Ocean Beach club.
Dan added: "We literally partied the whole weekend, and then when the sun came up on Sunday morning we had to think about how we were going to get home."
As they had only bought one-way tickets from Cardiff, their only way to get back was to London Stansted.
Dan admitted it was “more difficult” to get back home but that they managed it and got back to London with plenty of time to be at work for Monday.
He said: "It was a bit of a shock to the system, but it was all worth it. We have no regrets and will probably do it again, but it might be a few years before we can do it again."
The pair made a video about their adventure, which has been liked thousands of times and have received lots of comments.
One person said: "They had the time of they lives good on them after the s*** two years we all had, I say good on them for living they best lives." Another said: "I normally ended up in Splott."
