Two men charged with killing a Brisbane teen, who plunged to his death from Gold Coast balcony, allegedly broke into a Queensland Health building and stole drugs police say were later used in the boy's murder.

Cian English, 19, died on May 23, 2020, after jumping from the balcony of a Surfers Paradise apartment following what prosecutors say was a violent robbery.

Lachlan Paul Soper-Lagas, Hayden Paul Kratzmann and another person who was a juvenile at the time of the offending and cannot be named for legal reasons, were on Friday committed by the Southport Magistrates Court to stand trial in the Queensland Supreme Court on charges including murder, torture and deprivation of liberty.

They have not been required to enter pleas to the charges.

The committal hearing heard the group had allegedly engaged torture and deprivation of liberty of Mr English with the intention of robbing him to "teach him a lesson".

Magistrate Mark Howden heard that the juvenile had allegedly "supported and intentionally encouraged" the other two men's assaults on Mr English the night he died.

Police allege Mr English jumped from the balcony of the View Pacific Resort, where he fell about four floors to his death.

Police allege that prior to his death, Mr English met up with another group, which included Mr Kratzmann and Mr Soper-Lagas, who were staying in the apartment above.

The two groups are believed to have gone back and forth between the two apartments throughout the night.

The committal hearing on Friday heard Mr Kratzmann and Mr Soper-Lagas had allegedly broken into a Queensland Health building at Nerang on the night Mr English died and stolen drugs that were allegedly used in the murder.

The court heard the drugs stolen from Queensland Health were allegedly found at the unit where Mr English plunged to his death.

The group were also charged with the robbery of another person and torture and deprivation of another person and stealing a belt, wallet and AirPods from another man.

They will face the Supreme Court in Queensland at a date to be fixed.

Mr Soper-Lagas remains on bail.
